Springtime Fresh?

Think of dentistry, and a number of vivid images flash into your mind.  One of these may have to do with the characteristic smell of the office.  Have you ever wondered why there are certain odors associated with dentistry? We have.  Part of the reason is because of the nature of dental procedures.

Eliminating Infection

Treating oral disease typically includes the elimination of bacterial infection. That sounds simple enough, but there is a potential problem.  To remove decay, for example, dentists generally use a drill, which is a device that is powered by an air turbine and cooled by a water spray.

Aerosol

This process creates an aerosol that is supposed to be trapped by suction.  But some of the airborne water droplets escape from the operating field and drift into the ambient air of the office.  It's similar to the biologically active and potentially harmful spray when someone sneezes in a crowded room without covering their mouth.

Our Solution

Certainly, no-one wants to breathe air that is contaminated with bacteria or viral particles; however, most patients (and many dentists) don't even realize the problem exists. Therefore, they do nothing to control the aerosol.  But, as you would expect, in our office we've thought of the details so you don't have to.

Air Purification

This is where our office air filtration and purification system comes into play. It's a feature you may not notice, but it is working for you throughout your entire appointment.  Within each of our 5 units is a charcoal filter that removes office odors, gases such as nitrous oxide, and mercury vapors from old silver fillings. A second filter removes airborne particulate contaminants (the potentially harmful biologically active aerosol).

All of the air within our office is  filtered every ten minutes throughout the day. You'll never have to worry about biological aerosol that could be drifting about the office or entering your own respiratory system. You'll always breathe a little easier during your visits to our office.

Our Mission Statement

You can figuratively and literally breathe a big sigh of relief knowing that we have incorporated into our practice new equipment, materials, and methods designed to make your visits a bit less stressful and a lot safer.  Office air filtration and purification is a good example of our efforts to create and maintain an environment in which we provide oral health care of the highest quality in an "atmosphere" you can trust.

Invitations From Our Patients

We know you will want to tell others about the new technologies that we have introduced to our community and especially about our efforts to safeguard the quality of the air you breathe in our office. New patients who share your enthusiasm for Advanced Dentistry are always welcome in our practice.
