Our Center for Advanced Dentistry was the first office in the Pacific Northwest to offer oral surgical procedures utilizing dental lasers. With these amazing instruments, dentistry has entered a new era of comfortable surgical care. Established treatment protocols combined with the revolutionary technology of dental lasers typically lessens the anxiety of our patients who are so much more comfortable following the removal of a tooth. How is it Done?
The tooth is gently removed under local anesthetic using conventional instruments. Then, a tiny optical fiber is inserted into the socket delivering laser energy that destroys bacteria. At the same time, tiny nerve endings are comfortably sealed, and coagulation is initiated. This promotes the formation of a stable blood clot which is nature’s way of creating a soothing biological bandage over the extraction site.
Healing Time
Using the laser is the only way to create relative sterility within the extraction site. Then additional medications are placed within the socket. With this technique, we create an ideal environment where post-treatment sensitivity is significantly reduced, healing is greatly facilitated, and the potential for long-term success is maximized. Safety
At the low power setting used, adjacent normal tissues are unaffected. Control is maintained because the laser focuses only on a specific number of cells within the path of the beam. Wherever the light is directed, it will eliminate the bacteria linked to inflammation and infection. (Click on this link to learn more: The Fires Within).

More Laser Advantages
The laser is quieter, faster, more comfortable, and can be used with precision and efficiency. Additionally, the laser bio-stimulates the gums with photonic energy to enhance the rate of healing. In short, we use the laser in conjunction with a traditional model of treatment to make your overall experience more pleasant. (Click on the link to learn more about Soft Laser Bio-stimulation).
Before We Begin
If we determine that you could benefit from laser assisted oral surgery, a member of our dental team will discuss with you what you can realistically expect to accomplish with conservative care. With your informed consent, we will then be able to provide “the Light Touch” in your behalf.
Final Thoughts
The laser dentistry meetings, seminars, and symposia that we attend are among our most exciting continuing education experiences. There are many indications that the laser is emerging as one of the greatest breakthroughs in the history of dentistry, and we are overwhelmed to have been part of the process.

Since laser technology has been completely integrated into our practice, our team has adopted office policies and procedures designed to accommodate our community's enthusiastic response. We have also found that our patients have friends and family who would like to Touch the Future with Laser Dentistry. We will make room for them, too, in our practice. We always appreciate your invitations to others to experience Advanced Dentistry. (Click on the link to learn more about our Referral Program, and Special of The Month).
