Root Canals (The "lighter side" of dentistry)
Why do root canals?
We recommend root canal therapy when the pulp or nerve within a tooth is irreversibly inflamed. Its goal is to eliminate infection and discomfort and achieve sterility within the tooth, in order to facilitate the placement of a permanent root canal filling. Typically, the tooth is then restored to form, function, and cosmetic appearance with a post and coping and ceramic crown.

The lighter side of dentistry
The Light Touch offers a new era of comfortable management of badly infected or traumatized teeth. Established treatment procedures combined with the revolutionary technology of Dental Lasers typically produce predictable results of the highest quality. How does the laser work?
After mechanical instrumentation of the pulp, a tiny optical fiber is inserted into the canal. Laser energy is delivered via this fiber, so that all traces of bacteria within the tooth is eliminated. Energy medicine thus achieves sterility before the placement of the permanent root canal filling material. With this technique, post-treatment sensitivity is significantly reduced or eliminated, healing takes place rapidly, and long term success is enhanced. Lasing is amazing
The light from the laser only vaporizes harmful bacteria, and the energy used is so slight that the tooth is unaffected. Because its beam of light can be so precisely focused, this precision instrument is quieter, faster, more efficient, more comfortable, and is more easily controlled than are conventional instruments.

The power of light
In our practice, the laser's photonic energy enhances the quality of care when it is used in conjunction with other amenities designed for your enjoyment. For example, your experience might be more pleasant if you accept our offer of nitrous oxide/oxygen (gas), video glasses or heated back massage to help take your mind off the task at hand. (Click on this link to learn more: Video Glasses).

A final thought.....
Twenty five hundred years ago, Plato said: "The real tragedy in life is not children who are afraid of the dark, but men who are afraid of the light." If you need a root canal, we hope you will embrace the light.
