Most of our adult patients come to our practice with silver fillings in their mouths.  It was the way things were done 25 years ago.  Sooner or later, however, most of those fillings will have outlived their usefulness and will need to be replaced with comfortable, functional, and esthetic alternatives.  We thought long and hard about the best way to care for our patients who have worn out silver fillings.  Therefore, in 2006, we invested in CAD/CAM technology (computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing) that allows us to remove old silver fillings and create state-of-the-art cosmetic porcelain fillings and crowns in a single visit.  In little more time than it would take to place a conventional filling, we can provide beautiful replacement restorations that will not only make your teeth stronger but also brighten and lighten your smile and restore youthful confidence.  (Click on this link to learn more: Single Visit Crowns).

Diagnosis and treatment planning

All existing silver fillings are carefully evaluated at each Dental Health Visit appointment.  After your teeth have been cleaned, we will determine your oral health status, recommend necessary treatment, and make appointments to address your needs.  Our plan may include working from a hierarchy of need, identifying what requires immediate attention, and which treatment concerns are a lower priority.  (Click on this link to find out what's wrong with your Silver Fillings). 

Co-diagnosis is the process of involving our patients in treatment planning as we map out the best strategy for replacing existing restorations, for placing new restorations, for making cosmetic improvements, and for initiation healthy lifestyle adjustment. What can you expect when you have cad/cam dentistry?

• You can expect to be comfortable from the time you sit down until the time you leave with your beautiful new porcelain restoration.
• You can expect to be entertained during the process with our video glasses and a selection of over 160 feature length movies from which to choose.
• You can expect it to take about an hour and a half to create each porcelain restoration. When the movie is over, it will be about time to get up and leave with your new crown or inlay.
• You can expect to be back to normal within hours.  There are no dietary or activity restrictions following CAD/CAM One-Visit Crown Dentistry.
• You can expect to be amazed at the striking difference between the old filling and the beautiful new crown or inlay.
